I am THRILLED with how this side turned out of the double sided fairy tales. I plan to make more. Damn you Disney for not letting me sell these. Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. I plan to make more, I think Frozen might be next.

Reworked how I was doing my posters yet again
I began reworking my fairy tale posters. I am looking into doing a very dark silhouette maybe slightly seeing the bones of the villain. Not really sure.

Fairy Tale Truth
Sadly, I have let my blog slip by me over the past half a year. I am going to start it back up and post my art on here again. Currently I am working on a Fairy Tale Poster Series. They are being designed to be double sided. The main side will illustrate how society typically views the story, AKA the "Diseny" version of the story and on the back the true meaning behind the tales, the darker truth told within the stories. I will post images as I get my work done.

Michelle's Website update
I started working on a website for my friend Michelle Lilly about a week ago. I am very proud of this website it is possibly one of the best ones I have hand coded from start to finish. I am still working out some issues with the main coding and hope to have the home page done very soon. I still will need to meet with her to get what she wants the site to say but I am hoping to make it very "plug and play" for her. Until I am there here is an image of what I have going so far.
Things that I want to edit because the live version seems a little "large"

- the banner needs to shrink
- the speed of the slide show is still a pinch fast
- I need some better quality images(I will have to get them from her)

Michelle's Website
I got asked to make a website for a friend. Hopefully everything goes well. I am going to be working on the layout for a little bit today, posting more once I have something to show her.
Michelle Lilly just graduated IUSB and is an amazing oil painter. She has this wonderful series of women and animal painting that shroud themselves in mystery. You guys will have to take a look.

Typographical Poster
I have decided that I want to continue with these typographical posters I have been doing. I like them and am oddly happy with my final posters each time. I am correctly working on a present for mothers day. Here is the so far on my Notre Dame Typographical Poster. The words on the Notre Dame poster is the chorus to their marching song.
I need to tighten up the logo still at the top and check my spacing it seems off in some spots. I also want to switch some blank spacing. I was unsure about not putting Notre Dame large in the poster but I think it would have been over kill with the logo and the coloring system. The Gold and Blue are the correct colors for the school, the pale gold is just something pulled out of thin air.

Project 3 Update
I officially met with my friend on for my Logo, letterhead, business card design project last night. We talked for about an hour and she is going to be getting back with me later this evening for with which design for her logo from there I will create everything else. We have another meeting planned for Saturday afternoon.
Updated Artist Statment
Books have always been a strong influence into my
artwork. The effect that they have over someone is very empowering. They are an
escape form out lives, a moment of relaxation amongst the insanity.
With the paper format of books slowly passing, I
find it essential to capture the essence of the printed book. I use textures
inspired by parchment, traditional font faces, and even books themselves.
In my piece Letters for a Child, the influence from
classic novels is extremely relevant. I have created book inspired alphabet
using strong silhouettes that represent key characters from classics and modern
classics in children’s fiction. This
piece was created to not only inspire children to read but to be read.
As a designer I tend to work in a digital format,
using books as an inspirational jumping point. I work with original hand drawn
images. My pieces tend to have a limited color palette. If my artwork can
captivate you like a book can that I have reached my goal.

Project 4 Progression
I have everything almost done for project 4. I just need to finish up the one more poster and make what the emboss seal would look like on each book.
